TOUCH-A-TRUCK

The Epping Recreation Department held its 1st annual Touch-A-Truck fundraising event Sunday May 2nd in the middle school parking lot. David Kelly driving a concrete mixer from Aggregate Industries in Portsmouth represented Local 633 at this well attended event. Children were allowed to experience first hand what it’s like to sit behind the wheel of a large truck and many other vehicles. There were several pieces of construction equipment, emergency vehicles and members of local and state police units along with the numerous large trucks. Blowing the truck horns was a favorite activity of many along with the inflatable truck shaped bounce-house and Spiderman drew lots of fans everywhere he went. Hot dogs, ice cream, and lots of cold drinks enhanced everyone’s enjoyment of the beautiful weather. The Lindt golden bunny car was also in attendance with a very popular supply of Lindor chocolate truffles. The children had many interesting questions throughout the day and hopefully went home with a smile on their face a new interest in what many of us do for a living.
