Labor Effort Wins Passage on HB 404
Rep. Richard F. Heon of Somersworth and Senator Lou D’Allesandro
of Manchester were the key sponsors of HB 404 which won passage in the
State Senate after defeating a motion of Inexpedient to Legislate on
a roll call vote of 14-10. This bill permits public and private sector
employees to request a wage deduction for contributions to a political
action committee thus allowing them to have a voice in the political
process.

Sen. Burling (D) Cornish
Sen. Green (R) Rochester
Sen. Gottesman (D) Nashua
Sen. Foster (D) Nashua
Sen. Clegg (R) Hudson
Sen. Larsen (D) Concord

Sen. Martel (R) Manchester
Sen. Letourneau (R) Derry
Sen. D’Allesandro (D) Manchester

Senator’s who voted to deny workers a voice in the political process:

Teamsters Local 633 led the way in passing this very important piece
of enabling legislation. We are especially pleased with all our members
who took the time to write or call their representative or Senator and
asking them to support HB 404.
This was a great victory.
Thank
you for your support and assistance.
