Retirees
End of an Era
The January meeting saw the end of era in the concrete
industry. 3 of 4 recent retirees from the concrete industry received
their retirement watches from Business Agent Richard Laughton and Secretary-Treasurer
David Laughton. The combined experience of the three men in attendance
was almost an entire century. Dan Brown had 29 years, Conrad Therrien
and Tom Grady both had 32 years, a fourth retiree, Jim McKenna was not
able to attend. Their expertise will be great missed but we wish all
of them a happy and lengthy retirement.

Thomas
Wolf received his retirement watch at the December monthly meeting
from Secretary-Treasurer David Laughton. Thomas retired after 30 years
with numerous companies including ABF, Roadway and Preston Trucking.
We hope he has a wonderful retirement.

633 Retirees Chapter
The Retirees Chapter of Local 633 would like to welcome you to our home
page.
We are a group of over 350 retired Teamsters who, for more than twenty
years have been actively involved in many causes. We participate
in many activities alongside Local 633 members as well as several of our
own gatherings.
Our board consists of a President, Vice-President, Secretary/ Treasurer,
recording secretary and Three Trustees. We hold our meetings
at the American Legion- Sweeney Post on Maple Street in Manchester.
Our members actively attend many organizing rallies, informational pickets,
political campaigns and legislative events to help strengthen Teamster
ideas and create a better life for all.
We also gather for several social functions. We host breakfasts'
in March, June and September as well as a Christmas dinner at Sweeney
Post. We also hold several bus trips a year, some of which have included
Foxwoods, Mohegan Sun, a lobster bake in Boothbay Harbor and the Conway
Scenic Railway as destinations.
Our chapter supports Camp Care free as a charity. Camp Care free is a
two week summer camp in New Durham for diabetic children aged 8-15. This
camp provides a fun and informative way to learn a healthy lifestyle.
Many of our fundraising events go to support this camp; any and all donations
are always gladly accepted. More information can be found at http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/camps/d_07_130.htm
