Eight teams entered but only one could walk away calling themselves the champions of this years’ tournament. The competition is always at hand but everyone is also there to have a good time and enjoy some good natured ribbing along the way. The eventual champions, Manchester UPS, took the long way around by losing their first game of the weekend. They rolled their way through the losers bracket and eventually forced a two game showdown against undefeated Tru-Serv. Tournament MVP Chris Plante of Manchester UPS posted an impressive batting average of over .800 and this years Home Run Derby Champion was Pat Collins of Tru-Serv. Thanks goes out to the staff of the Derryfield for hosting this years steak and chicken barbeque dinner on Saturday night. With all the growth in Local 633 over the last couple of years, maybe we can encourage some of our newer members to enter some additional teams next year. Congratulations to everyone who participated this year as always it was a great event and we look forward to seeing you again next year.
